Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Location: any European COC office
Contract: 12-18 months fixed-term contract

Purpose of position:
The senior regional planner manages the supply chain (SC) process from end to end (supplier, manufacturing, customer) and acts as interface to product line management (PLM) organization. He/She is responsible to balance demand and supply for the EMEA FOJP and selected CAB business, including the lead in all SC planning functions (e.g. SC process, forecasting, S&OP, inventory & capacity planning). This involves the overall planning, implementation and optimization of activities and support required for the delivery of products and services to our business partners, from materials and service acquisition through to shipment. The senior regional planner reports to EMEA regional supply chain planning manager.

Main job duties:
creates and presents iMAX scenarios to prepare for capacity investment decisions
represents in sales and operating plan (S&OP) to identify and resolve constraints
creating, maintains and optimizes the SC process (end to end) and planning strategies
coordinates demand for new product introduction and transfers between plants and contract manufacturers
engages in materials coordination and vendor capacity facilitation with procurement
develops and maintains a forward-looking master production schedule (MPS) and material requirement plan (MRP) aligned in best possible way with forecasted demand
actively contributes to consensus meetings with PLM and APO team
maintains and is responsible for the forecast in SAP
manages inventory inline with business requirements while striving for lowest possible inventory levels
other tasks:
reviews, analyzes, and is accountable for SC key performance indicators (KPI)
develops and recommends SC strategies – especially in 1yr plan presentations
leads demand management process in case of need
contributes to lean SC projects
represents operations in product teams
represents the region in where-to-make decisions
provides a leadership role for coordinating plans and execution with PLM, plant planners, logistics and plant management
often viewed as a senior level consultant, may identify additional product/service opportunities by demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards required to drive constant performance improvements and best industrial practices for demand planning and plan execution
coordinates customer forecast translation into SAP system for the whole regional SC team
coordinates bigger or cross product line lead time inquiries for the whole regional SC team

Required professional training and skills:
technical or business master’s degree or equivalent minimum 3-5 years work experience in a SCM environment supply chain specialisation
demonstrate drive & commitment & proactiveness
understand requirements of the business and a respective integrated SC + takes appropiate actions
change management & leadership
SAP knowledge & experience
deep EXCEL skills & experience
project management
understands all aspects of inventory management knowledgeable about lean principles; fulfillment stream additional requirements
ability to work independently in a dynamic, business/ manufacturing environment
abiltity to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex problems
ability to change priorities and tasks as necessary
very good verbal / written / presentational & communication skills
ability to act and lead in a multi-national team
willing to travel up to 25% cross cultural awareness language skills
