The Solution Architect acts as a trusted advisor partnering with the customer on its network, services and operations evolution requirements and plans, thanks to end-to-end architecture skills on multiple domains and his/her understanding of the end-user.
Specifies & designs effective end-to-end solutions through the high level design of the architecture (andoptional through low level design) to meet customer needs in a market positioning prospective, according to Nokia and partners’ products, services and solutions capabilities.
Develops the full scope of the solution, working across organizations to achieve workable and repeatable solutions, with positive impact on projects variable margins, including involvement in key projects, from pre-sales to delivery.
Understands, captures and challenges inputs from market analysis, key customer’s decision makers, technical and operations staff
Obtains details of the customer’s current environment and the Present Mode of Operation.
Understands the end-user’s current & future expectations and needs.
Analyses those inputs, together with perceived market expectations, and translates them into a set of consistent requirements providing a variety
of cross-domains solutions that meet customer needs (business, operational, functional and regulatory) in the most effective way.
Participates as an expert during the tender process to support the build and write of proposals.
Applies solution architecture methodology, best practices, state of the art knowledge on network and operations, processes and principles to create value for the customer in an innovative way.
Identifies architectural alternatives and optimizes the trade-offs between factors such as lead time, cost and quality throughout the design activity.
Takes overall responsibility for the design of all aspects of the solution, working across organizations to achieve workable end-to-end solutions including Nokia and third party sub-systems (products and services). To achieve this, he may lead a team of architects from various organizations.
May drive a team of architects from various organizations.
Ensures cross-domains solution feasibility from technical, business value migration, integration, operation and maintenance perspective.
Ensures that the solution meets the market and customer’s implicit, explicit and dynamic requirements & that scope adjustments are subject to carefully considered change control procedures.
Maintains the integrity & the consistency of the solution over the whole project cycle.
Identifies problems and risks early; Explicitly highlights obstacles and proposes actions to address them.
Continuously innovates so that products, processes, and services better serve customers.
Defines the roadmap for blueprint and customer solutions.
Identifies opportunities of upscopes.
Functional responsibilities of SA may be supplemented and refined based on specific circumstances.
SA Should Have Following Skills, Experience And Abilities
Education University degree in the field of technical sciences;
Work experience in system integration field and/or telecommunications on the level of NPI or design.
Advanced user in PC Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and special programs like Craft, Telnet, etc.
Expert in network technologies
Flexibility and ability working in a team;
Fluent English speaker;
Readiness for business trips
Skilled to define IP architecture of customer networks to ensure integration of Nokia solutions.
High communication skills.
The Solution Architect has got a broad experience in multiple domains and technologies, as well as the necessary technical background to develop or lead the development of a cross-domain solution architecture (building blocks, interfaces, call flows, roadmaps, ...) to capture and convert the following type of system or end-to-end requirements
