Job Description
Our Airbus Helicopters’ Software métier department in Donauwörth is responsible for the development and integration of embedded software, implementing safety critical functionalities.
The team is involved in the development of in house solutions and is supporting the development of products developed by other entities, ensuring that the development processes follow the applicable guidelines for safety (e.g. ED-12 / DO-178) and security (e.g. ED-203/204) certification.
In order to ensure this mission, we are looking for you as a Software Architect (f/m/d), with a focus on cyber security functions!
What are your main tasks & accountabilities?
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Gather, analyse and extract requirements (incl. cyber security ones) from contracts, higher level specification and industry standards (such as Airworthiness Security Process specification)
Propose update of projects development plans to ensure compliance with the security requirements (e.g introduce regular monitoring of COTS vulnerabilities)
Write software (security) requirements in compliance with quality criteria, avoiding over- and under- specification
Set-up a verification strategy ensuring the compliance of the developed products with those requirements
Required Skills - Do you have the following knowledge and qualifications?

As our ideal candidate you will additionally have the following skills and experience:
Educated to 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in computer science, electronics or a related discipline
High level of experience in specification and/or development of Real Time Embedded Software
Experience with airworthiness processes and certification standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience in the design and development of Embedded Secure Systems
Additional experience and knowledge, easing your integration in our department practices, would also be appreciated. This includes, for example:
Design specific security functions
Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g. SCRUM)
Knowledge of Avionic Systems, including bus systems (e.g. MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429)
Knowledge of Software Qualification/Certification Standards (e.g. DOD-STD-2167A, MIL-STD-498, IEEE 12207, DO178B/C)
Knowledge of cyber qualification standards (incl. from other industries)
